Nice to see all of these in one place.

One that got rid of a lot for me was wiping silicone spray all over the weather strips for the doors. Most of my noise was coming from the windows and the weather strip creaking against the car. Whenever I dropped the windows I noticed most of the noise would always go.

My sunroof still rattles away but with the blind shut it gets rid of most of the noise.

Not helped by the appauling state of our roads. On the motorway the car is silent.
Agree about our appalling roads! I’ve never had a problem with the sunroof in my 67 reg car and can only hope the replacement due in the next week or so is the same. Are later models any better or is it just the luck of the draw does anyone know?

I think it's luck of the draw but I would say a signicant amount of people have an issue with it. It's my only criticism of the car and it's such a shame because my previous Ceed GT Line S had a sunroof and it was 100% silent.

I ordered a few things now so will be doing those fixes maybe this week.

Tape(it's also advised to use the tape under the screws):

Silicone grease for rails:

Silicone WD40 for seals etc:

Threadlocker for screws:

This problem is caused by insufficient spot welds around the sunroof aperture and Kia are well aware of the issue. There is a heavily classified TSB regarding this and the proposed fix of lowering the headlining and filling all the gaps with a black expanding foam didnt work.

Seems I’ve been lucky! No rattles or squeaks from the sunroof or anywhere else in the new Stinger delivered last week. It does feel better screwed together than the last one which had the dreaded hatch rattle and some squeaks from door seals.

Never experienced the hatch rattle myself but does seem fairly common. Maybe I just can't hear it over the sunroof 😂

Please let me know how you got on.

Unfortunately, my Stinger has developed the rattle, so now I know what people are talking about ! However, mine was in for a service this week, and I took the tech out for a drive around the block, so I knew that he knew how bad it was.
Apparently, they contacted Kia UK, and she is booked in again next month, where they will strip all the headlining, and completely remove and rebuild the sunroof. Fingers crossed !

Update ! Well, she's fixed !!! She was booked in for 1 day, but ended up 7 days. Liaising with Kia UK, they stripped the whole unit and head lining. Sound proofing was put in the headline, sealant along the sides, and a couple of 'bungs' in the front left and right corners. Obviously there was more to it than that, but not being a tech, that sufficed for me.
I've done approx 100 miles since, testing on all types of road, and not a peep ! Well done Allingtons KIa :D

Are you still rattle free? >1month on UK roads since your post should be a good test. 😉
Was the fix a TSB?
I've just had my 2017 Stinger serviced and asked for the rattle to be investigated. They surprised me by showing me a TSB. This is the first time after years of suffering that Kia has admitted there's a TSB. They wouldn't give me a copy but I feel more confident. 🤞🤞
They're having the car for a few days next month to implement the TSB.
With a bit of luck after next month I'll be able to turn the volume down on the radio. 🤭

After a long drive abroad with the sunroof open on most short drives I noticed a huge amount of creaking. Pushing up on the frame at the edge of the glass from the inside you can here a nasty amount of creak. The problem I had was solved by greasing all the plastic and rubber parts around the edge of the glass (hard plastic) and the final seal where the glass rests. This solved it - now its like a tomb.

Same everyone,, try adding a 5mm piece of rubber along the existing rubber at the rear part where sunroof closes , o noticed pushing from the inside the sunroof had slop , so adding more rubber seal , stick one sides put more pressure against glass and fixed
