That information seems to refer to TOmTom standalone units delivering their own mapping/route selection and other data.

That does not follow for Kia units - people are reporting that they are losing LIVE services after the 7 year period even though similar units others are using are still working with LIVE services on other cars of the same model just a few months later.

My understanding is that LIVE services are server supplied and I very much doubt that there are different formats for each car - I can understand the mapping parts becoming non updatable but not the acceptance of Speed Camera and traffic congestion data sent OTA/Internet.

I don't understand the stunning silence from Hyundai / Kia on this one, someone inside the organisation must know what is going on and what solutions are available.

Just to check, do people who have the dreaded message loose Speed Camera warnings from the Nave unit as well as traffic congestion?
Would be nice if someone would simply say something. But bet that the people that sorted this deal are long gone & no one left knows what to do 🤣

All you can guess at is it was a 7 year deal & given the change in tech both Kia & Hyundai are using they don't or can't pay out to extend the licence?

TBH, this does not bode well for the Gen5W units & how long they will be supported for 2020 release so really only another 3 years left.
Given the new ccNC new platform..

I'm not overly convinced on the 7 year thing.
I don't use Nav very much, as I tend not to go anywhere far, I last used it about a month ago, my car being 7.5 years old.
I had no error a month ago.

Last week, my display started flashing, it had a manufacture date of feb/march 2016.
Today I replaced the nav unit with a second hand one from eBay.
I took the liberty of updating the software, using Kia Nav Updater
This unit is displaying the error.
However, Im almost certain it has a manufacture date of 2018, (im not taking it back out to see)
so if theres a 7 year license, then this unit still has 2 years left.
Unless its pulled the date from the car somewhere ???

My guess is technology wasn't great 7 yrs ago why the license can't be renewed and maybe the contract ended. Still 7years is pretty good and I'm still surprised people use the online maps from 7 years ago.
Maps still work r they updated whats the big deal if live data doesn't work this only gives u speed cameras and road works.
Actually the technology worked fine on both my Vengas
The live data also gives you traffic and shows the congestion on the vehicle map display. Allows the re-routing option to function on the satnav. At least it did until the licence key ran out. Maps can be updated but the basic satnav/gps function is built in and works off the antenna gps signal. with no wifi connection.
I do not see why they do not just sell another annual licence. My system does not mention TomTom at all!

Hi.
I purchased my Kia Sportage GT Line in early 2016 and today, I have a message on the navigation screen saying "Online Service License Key Has Expired".

I have contacted the dealer who has advised that I now need Kia Connect to get traffic updates etc.

However, I have tried following the instructions online, but there does not appear to be any Kia Connect option in the settings on the head unit.

Has anyone else come across this issue and can you advise me how you got a solution.

Also, I can't find anywhere online that states the cost of Kia Connect. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks
I have the same problem.
