Delighted with my 69 Reg Kia Ceed 1.6CRDTi

I've had the car over a month and been delighted with it. I got a reasonable deal from Burton Kia so got the car for £15k with just under 8k miles on the car.

Couple of queries

1. Is the service interval every 12 months. My Kia says it's not due a service until 31/12/2022 but it was last served 14/11/2021 so I would have thought by 13/11/2022 to preserve the warranty
2. Some concerning threads re tensioners

I've not had any service action mentioned in my Kia account?

Is this fault only affecting Sportages and not Ceed's?

Touch wood I've not had an issue with the car.

I am due to take the car to Spain for a couple of months and could do without any hiccups?

Thanks - I will better get the car serviced/MOT'd before I go to Spain as I will be over there when it is actually due.

Is this not the same engine that's causing issues with the Sportage?

That said - I've trawled through and not found a Ceed owner reporting an issue with this engine. I expect it's a "thing" but not that common given how many of these cars are on the road. I've messaged Kia customer care to see if my car does require any further modification.

It's a lovely car to drive - the Andriod Auto works well (wired phone) and the highlights of the interior are the lack of rattles and very good stereo. It's a better-assembled car than my former Volvo S80 and in terms of actual assembly and build the equal to my former former Lexus GS. Naturally the Lexus had nicer trim but the quality of the assembly was comparable.

I didn't need such a big car and not finding driving something smaller a chore and I enjoy changing the gears manually again after years of driving automatics.
