Just had my engine warning light come on . 14000 miles on the clock and 90% of that has been electric, cant imagine whats wrong with the engine,
does anybody know if taking it into kia for diagnostics is covered under the warranty .
be grateful for anyone with a similar experience sharing there knowledge

I think you may be told that there is a cost for inspection if it is to be taken into the workshop (rather than a salesman just popping outside to sit in it with you). This would cover the dealer should a problem be something self-inflicted (difficult in your case, I know). You won't pay upfront, but you undertake to pay it should there be no warranty repair required. Obviously, if there is a warranty repair to be made, the inspection fee will just go away.

Do you have access to an OBD reader?

I take it that is the amber engine warning light and I haven't checked the manual but I would imagine the instruction is take it to the workshop? I am open to correction but this is surely what the warranty is for and will fully cover full resolution of the issue.

Had an amber warning light in my previous PHEV (Merc) and it turned out it needed a new thermostat. Replaced under dealer warranty at no cost to me.
