I take it that is the amber engine warning light and I haven't checked the manual but I would imagine the instruction is take it to the workshop? I am open to correction but this is surely what the warranty is for and will fully cover full resolution of the issue.

Had an amber warning light in my previous PHEV (Merc) and it turned out it needed a new thermostat. Replaced under dealer warranty at no cost to me.

 

manual does say take it into dealer workshop,
i was just checking if they charge for the diagnostics .

I think you may be told that there is a cost for inspection if it is to be taken into the workshop (rather than a salesman just popping outside to sit in it with you). This would cover the dealer should a problem be something self-inflicted (difficult in your case, I know). You won't pay upfront, but you undertake to pay it should there be no warranty repair required. Obviously, if there is a warranty repair to be made, the inspection fee will just go away.

Do you have access to an OBD reader?

 

Do let us know how you get on. As you allude to, early to be having a amber light given how little work the engine as done. Hopefully it will be something simple like a faulty sensor.

 

got it booked in for next week , hope it dosnt give me any trouble till then

I've just, put a deposit on a 71 plate xceed phev so would like to know the outcome of this too but Kia warranty should cover it as mentioned above.

 

Same happened to me at only 7000 miles, and like you a large proportion on electric although with the engine running for quite a lot of it this winter. Booked into my local Kia dealer. Diagnosed as a faulty oxygen sensor, but had to revisit when the part came in. Only an extra hour. No charge.

 

Turns out it was a faulty cam belt sensor . not in stock and no courtesy car ,
picking it up tomorrow. hope thats the end of it.

Hmm i collected mine Tuesday and from the off a few issues... unplugged it at 90% (didn't want to wait the extra time as i had a long drive home) went to fuel station and petrol cap would not open. Had a check fuel lid on dash. Then after returning and getting that fixed i tried to charge and none of the charge points would work. Tried it with the cable release under bonnet and it worked! Then stopped again and started showing a check hybrid system. Got it charging again but eml still on.

Dealer is driving up to take car back and leave me with a 3 trim (wont miss the sunroof too much i hope in the time it takes to get returned).
