Phone number not registered - apparently !

Hi, this is my first Kia - I've had it about two weeks and have been getting to grips with the infotainment system. I have downloaded the Kia Connect app and I can view the vehicle status and lock/unlock the doors from the app but functionality is limited as I can't complete setting up the driver profile. Every time I enter my phone number on the screen in the car I get the error message "The phone number is not registered with the Kia Connect app or is not valid." I believe the phone number is registered with the app as I have entered phone verification code reply in the app and got the tick to say phone verified.

I have tried adding 44 (country code) zeros etc but to no avail.

Is there some trick to this? Any help appreciated. Thanks

So I tried a soft reset first by pressing the little button on the head unit with a pen, de-registered my phone, unistalled and reinstalled the app. I kept the same account so when I logged in my car was listed. I added my phone again but still couldn't connect. So then I did the reset to factory condition on the head unit. I set up my profile again and when I put my phone number in I got the same message, "The phone number is not registered with the Kia Connect app or is not valid."

Have I done something wrong or in the wrong order? What next? I saw on Youtube that it is possible to do a hard reset by pulling the fuse on the head unit. Seems a bit drastic. Any thoughts?

Well you’ve done everything I would have done, sorry I’m out of ideas. As for pulling the fuse I know it works on the Ford Kuga without any drama but as for the Kia ? Hopefully someone here will pick up your thread and have the answer.
I appreciate the help. There is a Kia dealer not that far away. I may call in to see if they will help although I didn't buy the car from them so who knows !

Thanks
