Looking at the detailed specs on Kia website, still shows 8 inch display and 4.2 inch Supervision Colour Cluster Display

 

The web site specification is indeed at odds with the download PDF. However the download sheet has not been updated since April 2023 (noted on the last page), but I would still err with the download spec sheet.

 

I don't like it when manufacturers do this just for the sake of giving a smaller screen to lower spec cars when there is hardly a cost difference between an 8 inch vs 12 inch lcd panel. It's not even an oled panel but just a standard definition lcd.

The car still costs a lot of money making that small lcd panel size difference cost to be in the tens of pounds at the most!

But then they wouldn't be able to justify the £1,500 price difference between specs.

 

And throw into the mix the current new car offers…

 

But the costs of having one model with a different dash in a production run WILL be significant.

 

I guess so, there were 3 different dash configs if that change is correct it takes them down to 2 with the 2 and GT Line now having the same dash. The 3 and GT Line S having the other variant.

 

It's all very confusing. Mine has been made and in en route to the UK so I think it either case I will have the 8 inch screen. It was more out of interest, it's a big boost to the 2 spec if it has the larger screen

 

Does that mean that the 2 will now get Navigation and loose Wireless AA/CP ?

 

The other question there is the 7yrs of free Kia connect services which currently the 2 is excluded from - not much use having navigation without map updates.

 

This is also mentioned somewhere on the updated website as being included with the 2 spec
