definitely something wrong. Sounds more like some parasitic current drain. I would speak to the dealer for sure.

 

Best way to test is get a BM2 or 6 & fit to battery, you can then bluetooth to it & see how 12V battery is going. As when 12V gets low. Drive battery kicks in to recharge.

Any parasitic drain will show up as 12V will drop fast.

Other option is if you keep checking car via connect, as that wakes the car up.

 

I had some sort of parasitic drain on my EV6 causing the 12v battery to require frequent charges from the traction battery, resulting in daily % losses. I witnessed this using a BM6 monitor. I'll save you the full story (involving the purchase of a replacement battery) but basically I resolved the problem by disconnecting the 12v battery for about 5 minutes.

 

When I get into work tomorrow I'm going to pop the 12V battery off to do a reset (No socket set at home), apparently the car still checks for digital keys even once they are removed based on comments here

It's 2 years on EV3... Although dealer will like you to come in & part with some cash, for some to put on ramps & look at it..

 

Does anyone know where the "main batter isolator switch" is the manual references it but there is nothing else in there that matches it, including in the fuse page.

I was expecting something obvious like the pull tab in the ev6

The only High Voltage I’m aware of is a cuttable link on one of the 12v battery leads . It does not have the EV6 style pull out tab.

I'm sure that there will be a main drive battery cut out somewhere (often under carpet somewhere), for when working on car drive battery, but that will not be something a user should be messing with.

12V is just a simple spanner job. No need to mess with drive battery.

 

I also have the 1% a day drop on my main battery for the last 6 months winter and summer conditions.
I have the remote opening disabled and only use key fob or the app to lock and unlock.
The car was put on test for 6 days by me, and not using the app during this time. The result was 6% drop.
I sent a email to the garage service department and this was the message I received back.

I have addressed your concerns with one of our master technicians in the workshop. He said that is very much what he would expect to see, due to the car always being somewhat 'awake' in order to keep the 12v battery charged. The app can also have items running in the background in order to pull the data from the vehicle.
There is the option to put the app/car into offline mode (through the app) although you won't be able to use the app to check the charge it could be done as a test over 6 days to see if the drop in charge is the same or different when the app hasn't been used to check the status. (I hope that makes sense)

If I charge the main battery the it holds the % for 1 day then drops 1% a day.
I notice the % drop as the car is not used every day.
I am going to wait till November for the garage to look at the problem when I get a 1 year free inspection.
I have only done about 2000 enjoyable miles since November last year.
So with 1% drop approximately day half my charge required charge use is just for the system usage.
Please Dawdie can you report back how you got on after your 12 volt battery disconnection.

I pulled the plug on it after work tonight, might not be till later in the week that I get an idle period again.

 

I have not noticeable any meaningful battery drain on my EV3GTLine S. I have a BM2 battery monitor fitted so I keep an eye on when the 12v battery charges from the traction battery, as the car has been unused this week I noticed that the 12v battery charged only once in 65 hrs of the car and the app not being used so this may be one reason the traction battery is not draining

 

So I've only lost 1 mile overnight both days according to the guessometer which is considerably less then 1% battery.

I havn't had a chance to leave it a full 24h without a drive yet however.

 

36ish hours lost 1 mile again and battery % stayed the same so looks like the reset fixed it

Did you have to change any of the car setup after reconnection?

 

Our EV3 GT (long range) has been left on the drive, not connected to anything for ~26 days, 79% charge when we left, 59% when we returned. I did check it via the app every 2 or 3 days.

The battery monitor does usually show the 12V battery being charged for about an hour most nights if the car has been stood for several hours.

 

I have a 2024 EV9, and yes, for me, I lose 1% of battery per day that it sits. I've just come to know it and plan on it when I go out of town.
