50,000 vs 60,000 mile service

I do around 14,000 miles per year, so I always book an anual 20,000 mile service. I don't see the point in taking it back in 4 months time for the interrim service.
This year I took it to a different Kia garage, and I don't know why, but I just feel as if they performed the interrim service.
I can usually smell when the fuel filter has been changed, the oil just feels old, and the air filter isn't as clean as I'd exdpect it to be after only 100 miles.
I asked for an itemised bill and the bill states 50,000 mile service, where I actually booked (and paid for) a 60,000 mile service.
Of course I'll be calling them on tuesday to see what exactly they did.
In the mean time, does anyone have a definitve list of what should be replaced on a 60,000 mile service.

I spoke to Kia Service Head Office a few years ago, and the way I understood it is as follows.

The service interval is 12 months, regardless of mileage.
However, lets say, I've only done 14,000 miles, I could opt for a small service until I reached 20,000 miles at which point it would then require the full service. In my case the full service would be around month 17.

The pirice on the Kia serice web page is ÂŁ60 for a 50,000 mile service and ÂŁ215 for a 60,000 mile service.
I paid for a 60,000 mile service, but I'm convinced that nothing has been changed, the paperwork would also indicate a 50,000 mile service.
No mention of oil changed, but oil checked.

I'm not going to name and shame the dealership at the moment, as this could just be a simple mistake, the machanic did one thing, the service desk another, although it does beg the question, believing that I've just had a full service, what would happen if I now push the oil for another 20,000 miles.

I spoke with KCS this morning, but I'll be honest, the chap I spoke to didn't tell me anything.
So I asked whats included in a 60k service and he basically says 'whatever the dealership deems fit'

This is an absolute nonsense answer.
He couldn't tell me what the difference was between a 50k at ÂŁ60 and a 60k ate ÂŁ215

So if the garage determines that it doesn't need an air filter or fuel filter, they won't fit one but still charge ÂŁ215.
Something doesn't add up there.

I'm still awaiting feedback from the dealership on what it is they actually performed.

and I'm betting that the courtesy check doesn't include an oil change.
I'm utterly convinced that this is what the delaership have done, but charged me ÂŁ215.

This is why I've always gone for a full 20k service.
I don't see the point in going back in a few months time.

This could just be a simple clerical error on the dealerships part.
It's 5 years old, they performed the 5 year 'courtesy check' service, but i paid for a 6 year, 20k service.

The dealership have offered to get the car back in and see what's gone wrong, but she needs to speak with the service manager who's on holiday.

I take it for service every 12 months on the dot.
But I don't bother with the interrim service, I always opt for the full 20k service.

It's Diesel by the way so it's 12 months - 20,000 miles
I would have a full service every 14 -15,000 miles (12 months)

The first full service was at 6,000 miles when I bought it.
Its had a full service every 12 months since.
aproximately 20k, 34k, 47k and this year at 57k.

And that's where i'm guessing the confusion came from, due to Covid, I only covered 10k last year.
However, I still wanted a full service.
I can only assume the service department looked at the last service, determined that it only required the interrim service, but billed me what I ordered on the Kia web page.

we are going a bit off topic here.

However, below is an extract form the email I got from my original dealer 4 years ago, after both of us speaking to KCS.

You are on a 12 month or 20k service schedule.

If you do under 10k a year you are entitled to do a low mileage service of 12 months or 10 k.

As you explained to Kia, you do 15 k a year which puts you on the 12 months or 20k option.

It is your choice whether you choose to have the full service and come back in 12 months or whether you want to try and stick to a lower schedule at every 10k (this would be cheaper but probably 9/10 months instead of 12.

The car was about 9 months old had coverd 7000 miles, when I got it.
The supplying dealer performed a full service as per my request.

Its then had a full service every year on the dot since, with around 14-15,000 miles each year, except last year where I only covered about 11,000,
However, I still wanted a full 20k service.

This is exactly what I suggested to the service desk this morning.
A simple clerical error.
Left hand doesn't know what the right hand was doing.

@Fullchat - PM Sent.

I've spoken with the service manager this morning and he's apologised for what appears to have been a clerical error, and that the car hasn't had an oil change.
Now with what FullChat has said, I'm not sure I trust that the oil will get changed when it goes back in on friday.
Whether or not this turns out to be the same dealership, i'll have to see what FullChat says.
