Hi,

I've just bought my first Kia, it's a Cee'd 1.6 CRDi (113) 2008. I'm really happy with it and am planning a few additions to suit the way I want to use the car. Could anyone advise me as to the best way to install a cigarette lighter electricl socket in the boot? Cable routing is my biggest query - is there a preferred route? In case it makes a difference, I am thinking of installing a towbar too.

Thanks for any help in advance - I can't wait to make this my perfect car!

Are you looking for the normal 12v DC power outlet?
If so you already have two in the car.

The cigarette lighter itself, and the DC Socket.

Wire tracking, this can be done by removing the Scuff plates at either driver/passenger sides and tracking it through the housing already there.
(I've an AMP and Sub already in the boto.

Poddy, thanks - that sounds like the best way. Did it take you long to route your power cables and where did you connect them to in the front? I need the power socket in the boot and don't want to have to trail an extension cable from the two sockets in the front.

No, the sills on the door just come off, (pull up firmly but not suddenly)

Hope these pics help

These pics show where i threaded the wire from the back of the sterio to the boot.
