Neither the front or rear washers are working, there is water in resovoir! Is there a dedicated fuse for this, as it's not showing one in my handbook. Anyone any ideas please. Car is an 05 Sportage XE.
You don't say that you've checked that the washer is properly topped up
with fluid- not just water but proper washing fluid. It seems obvious
that you have, but it would be nice if people explained their situation
clearly and didn't expect assumptions.
Right- two things to try-
Look at the nozzles on the bonnet. Is there any gunk in them? If so
try using a sewing pin or needle to unblock them.
When you use the washers on most cars, the pump makes a noise that can
ve heard. Do you hear the buzz of the motor when you push the washer
button. A sort of high pitched whine? If so it's not the fuse.
The only way to eliminate the fuse really is to replace it.
Hi, yeah thanks for reply, yes washer is properley topped up and have cleaned nozzles out, can't hear a buzzing noise when washer's tried, so presume something is wrong at the 'motor end' Do you access this from behind the wheel arch liner????????
the filter on the pump intake will be blocked you need to remove the pump from the bottle and flush the bottle with a hose before you refit the pump access is from under the wheel arch cover
I'm having the same trouble with mine, do youknow where the fuse is for it because i can't find one in either of the fuse boxes on the car and the manual makes no reference to a fuse specifically for the washer pump!
Its 40 quid for a new one from kia so if i can fix it il'l be very happy!
