My new Niro 3 was supplied with the November update ending 221007. I've just downloaded the latest December update ending 221129 onto to new USB memory stick.

I turned the car on and selected General in Settings screen then selected Version Info / Update then Update. It then spent about 15 minutes validating the files then displayed a screen starting the update at 0% saying the update would proceed when the car was turned off. I didn't do anything then an an error appeared saying the update had failed and to check with a Kia dealer. The car is still on the old version 221007 and seems OK.

Have I done something wrong here?

I have a MY22 Sportage and back in September I tried to update the previous update and got a similar thing. I ended up getting it done at a dealer. Earlier this month I tried to do the latest update and got the same message. This time though I brought a new USB stick, only a cheap one £9.99 from Argos. Loaded the update on it and this time it worked. So if you've got another USB stick give it a go.
The first one was USB 3.1 and the second one was the older 2.0. Don't know if this is the problem but you don't know.

There was nothing wrong with the first USB stick it was brand new PNY Elite Steel USB 3.1 Flash Drive - 64GB. But didn't work on Septembers or Decembers update.
Brought another new one SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB 2.0 Flash Drive - 64GB and worked with no problem.

Where did you find that all I can find is the one I installed in December.

Wish kia would get better servers. I could download a couple of films in the time it takes to download these updates.
What happened to over the air updates?

I seem to be having a problem with copying from pc to USB.
I download ok but then comes the problem. I get the page that say copy to USB

but clicking on copy to USB it goes back to download page again

It shows the USB (J drive) but instead of coping it starts to download again.
Any ideas anyone.

Did this to me too. Thought it was just me as downloading to PC then USB while watching TV and thought I must have pressed the wrong button. Did the second 30 min download and that time it completed ok. Going to update car this morning.

I’ve done it 3-4 times now even uninstall program and reinstalled it. Deleted all the downloaded files. Still doing it.

Finally got it to copy to USB

Try going into settings on download app and change the save location to the USB stick.

I'll give that a go next.

Thanks but didn't need to.
Finally got it sorted. For some reason the program wasn't copying to the USB. So I did it manually and tried it and it worked. Strange thing though It took longer to verify than to install in the car.

Copying to USB has taken longer than installing on both occasions I've upgraded

I think next time I'll download direct to USB. Got to be quicker if it works.
