2022 Sportage HEV GT Line S

Anyone else had the "Ultrasonic Sensor Error or Blockage" message come up. It's quite annoying, it comes at in slow moving traffic.
I check all the parking sensors, no obvious obstruction and I gave them all a good wipe, no difference. Had been about a week now.

Any suggestions would be welcome before I take it to the dealer.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply guys. I gave the panel on the lower front grill a wipe, again, not cover with much dirt.

The error message persists.

It doesn't look like something that's easily removable to me either.

Have a look behind it from underneath. There could be something actually in front of the sensor, the cover is just to protect the sensor.
As they are seriously expensive.

Try to check each parking sensor individually, have someone move around the car while parked (and sensors active obviously).

If they’re clean then a fault could be water ingress or a loose connection behind the bumper.

Joining this thread as I have had the same error in my GT line S HEV.
I have had the car in to the dealership yesterday for a service and check.
Outcome is not helpful. They can’t find any electronic fault or fault code so they (Kia) are unwilling/unable to help. They confirmed that lots of Sportages have come in with the same issue and replacing sensors has not helped. The dealer has raised the issue with technical @ Kia but they couldn’t give me any reassurance that there sensors will ever be repaired.
Called Kia UK customer support letting them investigate. Same response (washing of hands).
So I have a top spec car with no front sensors that work and customer service that rates 1 out of 10.
I’ll be back to VW or BMW next time.

I’d be interested to find out who else is having the same problems.

I’ve had the same issue occurring yesterday whilst driving. I’ve wiped all the sensors but it still persists. I’m going to call the dealership this morning as the sensors are not working .When I parked close to my garage door the sensors didn’t work. Reading all the posts, I’m feeling pretty downhearted about the issue being rectified.

To update everyone.
The sensor error seems to have disappeared. It's not come up for the past month. I didn't do anything to fix it, haven't even washed the car since my last post.
I wonder if the software updated itself, I have not done any manual update.
I did do a few long drives, about 100miles round trip to airports during this time.
I'll update further if anything changes.

Any OTA update will not install without you agreeing. As well as OTA is only for navigation.

HI,

I have the same issues with my 2022 EV6 GT LIne. When I put it into reverse the ultrsonic sensor error or blockage warning comes up and disappears, but in my case all the sensors are working front and back.

Took car in for service yesterday and asked them to check it and was told that all the front sensors were damaged and therefore not covered by waranty. basis for damage was pointed out to me as stone chip on one (very small) and "white ships round edges of the others". there is a small chip on one but the white around the edges of the others wasin fact just polish residue. cleaned them again but still get warning. Queried with garage how they concluded that it was front sensors and they all needed replacing and service manager has come back to me to say that no errors showed up in diagnostics so technician made a visual check and decided the problem was damaged sensors. Really not happy with that. Were I not switched on then they would be stinging me for 4 new sensors when at worse one is the problem and as they all work it seems that one is not an issue. I am following up witht he garage further about it

I've got the exact same issue on my EV6 and I've also carefully cleaned all (6 rather than 4 on mine) front sensors with no improvement. Back in summer the problem went away on hot days, especially if I parked up with the front in the sun but it's now giving the beeps and error message every time I reverse. One sensor has a very tiny paint chip (no dent though) so I'm expecting a poor response to my request for repair under warranty... I'm having this issue looked at when the car goes in for the latest "seat wiring" recall.
