Thought I would just post my experience of fitting new tyres to my 2019 GT LINE S. When i bought it was sourced from a mobility early return a I needed a 2. litre diesel for towing, as 1.6 is not heavt enough. they told me it had been through the workshop and I could view it and I noticed it had 4 new tyres, on closer inspecton the two front were hankook and on the rear a continental on one side and nexen on the other! I told the salesman not acceptable to have two dirrefent makes/tread pattern on same axle, but he didnt believe me. Ended up the workshop manager agreed that the manual says an AWD should have all 4 tyres the same, but they could not source hankkok so ended up with 2 nexen on the rear and I was assured this was OK. 2 years later fronts needed changing after 17,000 miles (rears are still at 5mm), so I went for nexen as they have a good pedigree and are resonably priced and OMG what a difference in handling and much quieter, the car feels totlay different. So anybody out there with and AWD always insist on all 4 tyres the same, which is as recommended in the handbook

Good to know, I’m currently looking for used an AWD sportage. There’s not many with identical tyres on both axles……
Within reason any new tyre will outperform a worn tyre due to the increased tread depth etc. I remember replacing worn out tyres on a BMW with 100% identical tyres and the difference was amazing especially noise.
