Hi everyone, new to this forum as only just (since Saturday had a KIA).
My model is the AWD Petrol version, which comes with the space saving spare tyre, and this leads me on to my question.
In the tyre well, there naturally is the spare tyre, held in place with a threaded 'handle' (as shown per the manual), however there is no reference to the tyre 'jack', and in my car, it is for the want of a better word - just loose and rolled around (since managed to 'wedge' between two small threaded screws on the right hand side and the spare tyre.
In seeing this I've realised that there is some similar 'device' to that that holds the tyre in place that will hold the jack in place as well.
So here's the weird thing - phoned my nearest KIA dealer - and after a bit of waiting got the response - "Just leave it loose in the back - it will be ok" - Hmm - OK - not the answer i was expecting.
I then phoned the next nearest dealer and spoke to someone who reported that whilst there is a 'device to hold the jack in place' there is no option to 'purchase' one as a spare ?
Questions -
1. Do anyone know if there is a spare part available ?
2. Has anyone had this issue and come up with a 'fix' ?
3. Would it be worthwhile phoning KIA customer support and confirming if a spare part is or isn't available ?
Any advice on this point will be gratefully welcomed.
Stephen
