Hello again everyone!

Does anybody have experience of towing a caravan with a Soul CRDi manual? We don't have one at the moment but are looking to buy ourselves a relatively cheap early 90's 'van, something that will weight about 1000kg in running order. I'm guessing the punchy engine and short rear overhang amke towing easy!

Any thoughts (including the availability of towbars!) welcome.

i shopped around when i was looking at fitting one and found that about 200 pounds was about right ,more if you wanted a detatchable one that was with a "towbar centre", i would try however tow sure who do a "while you wait" and are quite competitive , i didnt bother in the end as i kept my old car that has one fitted!

I cant offer you any advice on towing and weights. But the Soul was tow car of the year in one of the "shed dragging" magazines when it first came out... i am assuming it was the diesel version..... so it must be capable.

one of my neighbours has the 1.6 petrol soul and he tows a small trailer with it. His towbar is really clever cos it tucks away with all the electrics out of sight when not in use..... very neat. I will ask him what make it is etc if you want.

Ta, I'd appreciate that

I'll have a look for the shed-pulling article - I've spent years mentallyabusing one of my team for his love of caravanning; FB Junior turns up and now it's the answer to a question we never thought we'd asked! He got a sniff a few months back and it's torture...

we have a department at work..... half love it and half hate it...... causes quite a laugh. The various "shed dragging mags" get passed about as either top class porn or pure jest!!!. Top gear and their hatred provides a constant source of amusement too.

i will call on the neighbour tomorrow and find out about the towbar spec.
