hi, have just purchrsed a 2006 sportage xs diesal off my local kia dealer, hes sorting me mot, tax and a years warrenty. the sportage has only got 61000 on clock. when i asked about weather the timing belt has been changed he said they are good for 100000? im under the inpresion that they should be changed at 60000 is this correct? the paper work for sportage was locked away, as it had only just come in, and the college that was not there had delt with it. i will be towing a caravan with the sportage so dont want any misshaps,should i get on to him about this, and is 60000 correct ? thanks scott

Official confirmation from Kia UK is that the timing belt relacement for Sportage 2.0ltr diesel is 100,000mls or 120 months.

You sure that's miles?


My handbook states 100,000km which is, as others have said, 60,000 miles


But to be fair, I have a petrol, so it may be different....
