Don’t have the car yet but I recall a similar sounding ticking on the test drive. From memory the air conditioning was off and switching it on silenced it. I certainly did something to the air conditioning/fan controls and it disappeared.

 

It is definitely related to the fan. If you turn the fan off completely it goes away. However, the number of times I would expect to drive without A/C and/or the fan on is minimal. Its very minor but in my mind it shouldn't be making that sound. I'll speak to the dealership but it would help if others could confirm whether they can hear it or is it just an occasional car that is doing it.

 

I have had a test drive and my wife and I heard the same thing! I didn't think too much of it, but the guy from the dealership, who was sat in the back, said he couldn't hear it. Definitely worth investigating.

 

Its not that loud so I'm not surprised he couldn't hear it in the back and I'm pretty sure the radio will drown it out most if not all of the time. All the same I'd like to suppress it if poss. Just going out to play with the A/C and fan as suggested by @Masklin

 

Kia's tend to sit with fan on 1.

 

Smart ventilation active? Comes on occasionally to keep the cabin fresh. Comes on with the fan off.

 

This ticking sound starts when i want to heat the car. And all the time. It does not stop. Only when you turn the heating off. Has anyone already a solution for that ticking problemen?

 

Its the fan, there are many reports about this problem.
