Can any one with a diesel Soul tell me what RPM it ticks over at. Mine's just under 1,000 RPM and it seems a bit fast to me.

Dont know what the official spec is for tickover, but my diesel ticks over at just under 1000rpm too....always has done. (previous diesels have ticked over at a lower revs).

Mine is the same around 800rpm but a bit difficult the get a real accurate reading,it's been serviced at 12k so I assume that everything was OK on this side.

I think it's rather fast, in my old Rio I used to be able to put it in to 2nd and let the tick over roll me down my road at around 15mph. Now in the Soul it about 25Mph. Mind you The Rio was Petrol.

Diesel has a higher tick over than petrol, also when you put the diesel into gear and drive without touching the throttle the idle speed will jack up to stop it stalling, diesel cant be compared to petrol in anyway whatsoever
