I have a 2013 Sportage, the problem i have is that the sunroof opens ok but really struggles to close. i am assuming it needs lubricating but apart from the main track how can i lubricate it further back.

Thanks
Bob

Discobobby,

I had the same issue.

Go to a decent motorfactors and buy yourself a can of silicone spray.
Open the sun roof and you'll see the tracks - a squirt of silicone should do the trick. I also used a earbud to spread it around.
I do mine a couple times a year and it works absolutely fine.

hope this helps.

As Jassy said, clean any crud out the track first, but instead of Silicon I use White Lithium Grease, both will do the trick! ;)

Note to anyone trying this for themselves:
Make sure you mask off EVERYTHING else! Silicon spray on windows, leather, interior plastics, etc., is a right pain in the butt. My first Sportage was done at the dealers and I was still trying to clean up overspray when we got rid of it.

mine used to do that then it stopped closing and I had to hold the close button while I pushed it closed.
took it to dealers under warranty fixed no probs
