If a thief tries to block your signal when locking your car, surely the tell tale sign is that your mirrors don’t fold in, assuming you‘ve set them to do that. In that case you will know there’s a problem.

Nor would your lights flash, which is what I look for. It still made the headlines, two years running.

This is one subject where "In the old days" does not stand up very well.
Cars from the 70's were so easy to get into & drive away it was a joke. Was it Ford that had something like 1000 key combinations. Coat hanger. Opps I've got into that car 🤣

At least now you don't have some kid just rocking up & driving away with your pride & joy. Unless you are stupid enough to leave keys by the doors & house unlocked.. Or in the car 🤦‍♂️
