Hi I am a newbie to this forum but am after a bit of help, i have a 2006petrol CRDi and i am only able to get second gear. Any help/advice would bemuch appreciated.

Does it help to select 2nd then try to select 1st?

Hi unfortunatlely not. I've even been unable to select any gears, but once i've switched the engine off and restarted it seems to be ok.

Please confirm that it is manual transmission.....this is a very strange fault.

Hi, yes it is manual, i am also getting a burning smell from the car.

Possbily an issue with the clutch...not disengaging properly. Does the clutch pedal seem normal? Is the fluid reservoir ok?
