Hello and welcome to the forum.
You do not say what model you have, but from your description my first thought would be clutch plates, which can overheat if strained and smells awful. It does dissipate after a while. However your mention of rubbery smell may point elsewhere, possibly drive belts.

(Please refrain from using upper case letters, it's isn't forum etiquette)

Has the smell started to go, or is it still there?

As has been said obvious source are clutch or belt.
But if you have a AWD it could be something with the transfer box/drive shafts.

Best bet if still doing it a trip to a dealer is in order. As this is really something that needs to be smelt in person (y)

Hello the smell is still there it's been a couple of month's now. It is 4 wheel drive. I will take it and get it checked out. I'll let you know when I find out. Many thanks for all your input
