I am new to this 4x4 driving, and I am wondering how to drive on ice or snow on roads with my Sportage, the Sportage has esp and four wheel drive lock, do you have to turn of esp when engaging 4 wheel drive ?, also if anybody has any tips for this kind of driving with the Sportage, or knows of any publications that I could get hold of I would be very much obliged. Thanks Grandad Zack

Hi Zack, all you got to remember is you may get going better in a 4 x 4 but it still is like any other when you want to stop it!
The 4 wheel drive seems to sort itself out onyour model.

I was told 50/50 4wd lock disables itselft over 25 mp/h on the new Sportage.

There is no way it would be acceptable to have a button that if enabled breaks your gearbox if your going over 25mp/h. You might have enabled it by mistake after all.
