Hi all,

My wife's sportage gets very slight mayo on the dip stick/oil cap on short journey not on long trips?
It's not losing any oil/coolent or no oil in coolent.

She only does 4 miles a day MAX (that's why we got the petrol version )

Should I change the oil more often? And blast it down the road to my work once a week?
It's a 58 plate and done 26,000 miles

4 miles a day is killing it to be honest, the water and the oil will not have heated up to their normal operating temps and the engine will run slightly rich because of that, so not very good mpg. I would give it a long run at least twice a week to burn off any moisture in the engine. Yes change the oil more often than the norm due to the style of driving.

Thanks for reply I will hammer it 2 a week then. I must say I drove it for the first time the other day on a 90 mile run and amazed how good it feels to drive :)
