We have fitted non self levelling shocks to my 2005 Sorento. Now realising the error of our ways we need to change the springs. As the car is getting on a bit I do not want to change the shocks again. Is it okay to just replace the springs and do they need to be heavier duty than what would have been needed?
When the levelling shocks fail the best and well proven thing is the replace with the Peddars replacement kit. Consists of uprated shocks and uprated springs. Excellent value for money.
or you could fit spring assisters, they are blocks that fit in between the spring coils, I made a set from thich 1" ply wood, once they are in place they do not move. they effectively shorten the working length of the spring and boost the ride height depending on how many spacers you fit.
I too want to replace rear shockers, why do u now feel u need springs as well, with ur new shockers on, is it the height that's ur problem or poor ride.
