Trying to change the cambelt on my 04 Sedona diesel 2.9 CRDi, only problem is that I cant move the crankshaft pulley nut, its so tight, I,ve tried locking the engine in gear with the brakes on but it still wont shift, problem is there aint a lot of room to get a swing with the hammer on the end of the socket bar to crack the bolt to start it of. Anyone have any tips please on how to get it started? Thanks

Sorted it now, had a quick look on youtube, typed in crankshaft pulley, and there,s video,s on there shows you how to do it using the starter method, it looked risky and I was apprehensive, but it worked. Basically you put the end of the socket drive bar up against something solid on the car(so it cant bang on anything and cant move) then flick the engine over on the starter(just a blip for a second-no longer) and hey presto it was loosened. Trouble is didnt have enough time to strip it all down again, but will have a go at the timing belt this weekend.
