what year sedona is it ?
upto 01 it will be the tdi engine around 01-02 it will be the tci engine tdi block with common rail injection later than that it should be a crdi with the delphi common rail fuel system all engines have common faults with the fuel systems if the later engine pull the fuel filter off without losing too much fuel give it a good shake up blocking the inlet and outlet ports obviously and pour contents into a clear container old coke bottle etc and look for any metal deposits check with a magnet any thing lager than a deposit the size of a 5p or bigger could spell trouble for the high pressure fuel pump

the earlier pump was a more robust unit although they did have a problem with the anti dieseling solenoid on the rear of the pump

make sure the orange immo light on the right hand side of the dash comes on solid not flashing or no light at all if anything other than a solid lightwhich then goes out there is a problem with theidentification of the ignition key preventing starting very common on all sedona models

pull up the flap in the floor behind the front seats and remove the screws holding it down & remove the fuel tank sender unit and check the pickup is not clogged also a common problem as this restricts the flow of low pressure fuel to the filter also how old is the fuel filter itself ? as the paper filement inside degrades over time and restricts fuel flow to the pump.

hope this helps stu

ps not replaced too many ecu's on either model more wiring faults and fuel issues
