Hi we are a local garage on the south coast and we have a very sorry story of a Sedona which broke down on the motorway when the alternator bearings packed in it threw off the fan belt. The customer stopped the engine because of loss of power steering etc. The problem arose when the recovery service arrived and drove the vehicle away instead of recovering the vehicle. The broken fan belt got caught in the timing belt which we renewed a year ago and has wrecked the engine.

The owner is in a legal battle with the recovery firm but in the mean timethe vehicle has been recovered to us and we are not willing to get involved insuch a large repair. What I am asking on the customers behalf is where can anyone recomend a specialist near to Worthing who isgood at repairing this vehicle or is it only the dealer who can repair at great expense? I have asked a few other local garages who are too busy to get involved. Any helpful information would be appreciated.

Can't help on the garage front.
However, last few broken belts I've seen have only snapped a few rockers, no valve damage, if i was doing it, i'd get cam cover off, see how many are broken, replace and whack a belt on.
