That's why governments are outlawing Hybrids. Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. Is he a Con man or just by accident??

Government consultation will determine which hybrid vehicles can be on sale beyond the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel cars, say DfT
  • PM announced this week an accelerate date to ban new petrol and diesel cars
  • All cars will internal combustion engines will be prohibited from sale in 2030
  • New hybrid cars will be on sale until 2035 as part of transition to electric vehicles
  • Boris Johnson has failed to clarify exactly which types will be sold beyond the petrol and diesel ban with many UK makers producing hybrid cars
  • Government has confirmed there will be a consultation next year to define which hybrid models will be allowed to be sold until 2035
Like the legal system, you can always find EXPERTS who will interpret evidence differently.

Over the next ten years, Motor Fuel Group is planning to invest around £400 million in Ultra-Rapid 150kW and 350kW electric vehicle (EV) chargers across its UK network. MFG will install a total of around 3,000 ultra-rapid 150kW and 350kW EV chargers at roughly 500 sites by the end of 2030.

By developing ultra-rapid 150kW and 350kW EV charging hubs in strategic locations across the UK, MFG believes it is uniquely placed to alleviate range anxiety and increase drivers’ confidence in electricity as a fuel source, thereby improving adoption of EVs.

The planned investment will be made hand-in-hand with a broader upgrade programme, continuously upgrading its nationwide network of industry-leading travel retail destinations.

Welcome to Motor Fuel Group
MFG is the largest independent forecourt operator in the UK with over 900 stations operating under the BP, Shell, Esso, Texaco, JET and Murco fuel brands.

I don't think EV's are going away anytime soon. Sure, they will be superceded some day but i won't know about it.

A thought provoking, but frustratingly short on figures article here. Worth a read if your thinking of buying a hybrid to save the planet.
Perhaps you missed this post from almost a week ago, 'phil866':

Motoring magazine article re the Clean Air Index

As you suggest, rather short on verifiable detail but big on opinion. Nonetheless, the future of non-commercial motor transport may seem patently obvious, were we to treat the opinion of Johnson & Co as gospel, but going on the clown's track record, from London Mayor to PM with all his promises and predictions failing to materialise as described, who knows?

Hydrogen of course! But the first world (am I allowed to say that anymore?) economy has now geared itself up for batteries/EV's so that will be the future whether it's better or not....
