It is the screen is delaminating, basically the surface layer is separating from the sensor/led screen. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop it, the screen will need repairing or replaced. There have been a number of threads of members who have had this happen and some members have had them replaced under warranty. But be aware, the media system is only covered by a three year warranty, you may have to push hard to get it sorted.

 

i had the same ,i think it was the heat ,mine spread up the screen warranty for the unit is 3 years (i think ) mine was 5 years old when i emailed kia and after a few weeks they changed it free out of courtesy so since then on warm days i use a windscreen sun shade to cool the cabin down

 

How long have you owned the vehicle? Did you buy it used?
If that is the case, if you are lucky, someone could have fitted a screen protector film. These peel off.
BUT before you start poking around I suggest you have a look at a comparison with a similar vehicles screen to se eif one has been fitted.
