Hi folks,

Have a 2012 kia venga 2 1.4 bought recently from Charles Hurst, about half the time when putting it into reverse gear it makes a loud clunking noise/seems to resist going into gear slightly, whereas other times it's totally grand.

I'm a car novice so am wondering what would normally cause reverse gear box issues? Car was fully serviced before I got it

Thanks

Possible that the clutch need bleeding or the thrust bearing is worn.
Is there any clunk ever going into first?
Try counting to five in neutral with clutch fully out before putting into reverse. (To allow everything to stop)
As far as I know there is no synchro on reverse so a clunk is always possible.
Be sure to push clutch pedal fully down for reverse.

Thanks mate, so there's no clunk going into first thankfully just reverse, I'll give that a go re counting to 5 next time I'm out and keep an eye on it
