Hi Danny,

It is unlikely Motability will accept low mpg as a reason to return a vehicle.

However, you'd best ring them if your finding to expensive to run as it defeats the object of the car which is to help keep you mobile.

Not tried it for low mpg but had a Pug 207sw for a year before it became increasingly difficult for the wife to get in and out (she's the motability client). I chose another car from the list then wrote to motability giving physical reasons for the Pug becoming unsuitable and why the new car (Renault grand scenic 1.5dci) would be so much better. I also asked for help with the advance payment quoting that although we'd saved some towards the next car we didn't have enough for the full AP on the Renault. It only took a week or two for them to agree to change the car and pay the balance of the AP. Trouble was the Renault turned out to be crap with awful mpg.
