Had to take my 08 Kia Ceed 1.6 into a local garage due to an annoying problem (have searched forums but can't find anyone with the exact same issue).

When pulling away from a standing start, depressing clutch and get a 'metalic clink' . Bringing clutch up is fine. Happens also from 1-2 and 2-3.

Also noise happens on bumpy surfaces, generally on front passenger side.

Garage thinks its the steering rack, but there.is some play in a bush on the passenger side.

Got a second opinion this mornining who thinks it could be the the same thing but I get no vibrations or other feedback through the steering or pedals.

Something doesnt feel right but Im no mechaic.

Is it worth taking to a dealer to diagnose? Car is 18mts out of warranty so dont want a hefty bill if it can be avoided.

TIA

(PS asking on here as last time I had a noise from the rear a garage diagnosed as a fault on the handbrake only for it to be the rear tracking arms. Always cautious now!)Edited by: deltaflyer13
