What is your mpg like in the 1.5 model

 

I’m getting around 38 mpg that’s why a good remap and a K&N filler would improve this plus the slight turbo lag by giving it more air

 

I'm not sold on a K&N and never really have been, but I've looked for remaps on the 1.5t and there doesn't seem to be anything widely available at the moment. Perhaps the constantly variable timing is presenting issues for tuners?

 

Yes that’s what i have found But need to get rid of the turbo lag doesn’t have to be a K&N just a better filter than the stock one fitted 👍

 

Are you sure its turbo lag? Appreciating these engines are complicated I'm certain that its the case. Again, I wonder whether its linked to the timing changes.

I'd love to see some data logging to see

it's a manual.have no other niggles so far just as I said before a little turbo lag.

 

I take most your driving is in town ?
I did see a few members saying they are getting mid to high 40s combined driving.
When I had a test drive a few weeks back tbh it did feel empty at times as you describe

Yes your right I'm doing a lot around town driving I will give it a little longer to see how it goes as I have only just done 1000 miles so far I will keep you posted

 

don't bother with the airfilters mate

 

I had one on my Honda Civic I bought it like that but tbh it was very noisy

 

I had a jetex panel filter on my 1.6t and performance wise, nothing different imho. There was added noise from the turbo intake but I've gone back to standard Kia filters. Not worth the cleaning and maintenance imho.

 

Make sure it's out of warranty before you do it as soon as we plug it in any issue will show up on the computer at Kia and it will flash up remapped Kia will no longer cover your warranty anything goes wrong you'll be paying for it
