Hey guys - I've developed a strange humming noise coming from the rear which I suspect is a wheel bearing fault and my stepfather has said this also however my question is would this be covered with the Kia warranty ?

I drive a 13 plate only at 38k miles -my daytime running lights are out so already have a warranty claim so I'd rather kill two. It's with one stone

Wheel bearing should be covered under the warranty.

a tyre can also cause this noise. look at the edge of the tyre, run your hand around the edge to see if there is any feathering. some models of Honda and Mazda cars were bad for this but it was only when wider tyres were fitted. it was caused by too much negative camber.

Thanks for the confirmation - tyres appear to be fine from my inspection. I'll pop into my dealer and see what they say

I had exactly this. Tyre looked fine but was just very old and a bit worn with same identical himming noise at higher speed like between 30- 60 . Done the tyres and it was running like a dream!
