Hi has anyone changed rear pads with electric parking brake fitted and is there anything I should be wary of. I have a 2017 Ceed 1.6 crdi 3 Dct.
I have seen some posts a while ago to suggest you might need to reset something afterwards.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have never worked on EPB myself but read a bit about them. Plenty of work on Brakes in General.

You need a Diagnostic Tool to retract the Pistons.
Foxwell seem to get recommended on here. NT415 looks like it will do the job but around £100.

Alternatively, I would imagine most Independent Garages will have a suitable Tool and could change the Pads for you at a reasonable cost.

I always see these devices as an investment. Yeah it might cost £100 in the first place but you take the car to get diagnosed at a dealer or independent garage, they can charge you £60 just to plug it in. Next time it comes to replacing your brakes the price of the device would have paid for itself and you can feel the accomplishment of doing it yourself. Also I am paid in beer for diagnosing friends cars, bonus!

The Diagnostic Tool has a lot of functions that will work on many Makes and Models.
Possibly the OP thought it was just a Tool to retract the Pistons on a Ceed? In which case, it would not be worth the bother.

£140 for Kia to replace the Pads. It would pay for itself immediately if you discount the OP's time.
