Recently bought a 2008 (58)Carens LS 2.0CRDi which I'm very pleased with. Having got over the initial excitement I'm now starting to find out more about its many 'toys'. I bought it from a Kia Main Dealer via an Autotrader ad. In the ad summary they stated the car has a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Heater. Sounds good, I thought, so I Googled it and found a very technical description of a sort of electric pre-heater which would cut in on starting up on a cold day to back up the heater until the engine warms up. The description was on a USA Patent application made by the parent company. Yup, I'm yawning now, too. Couldn't find any mention of it in the handbook at all (not even listed as 'if fitted'). The heater seems to warm up quite quickly in the mornings, but I'm intrigued to know if this system is actually fitted, as I'm surprised Kia haven't mentioned it in their own 'blurb'!Love the car to bits, though, PTC heater or not!
