Hi all, new to forum.

My Picanto 1.0 gs 2005 has a couple of issues, not sure if related...

Starts fine, a slight intermittent judder at idle, possible misfire. Drives well except for hesitation/misfire under load/up hill at around 2000 revs and check engine light flashes and then goes out.

Also the other day upon starting the engine revved at 3000rpm at idle. This lasted for several minutes before returning to normal.

Have plugged in to OBD2 reader and it returned a pending code of P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire detected).

Planning to check plugs and leads today but can't see how they would create the high rev issue.

Really hoping it's not the dreaded crankshaft pulley bolt fault???

Any thoughts on this please?

Thanks

Update.

Checked plugs and look brand new. HT lead internal clips had come away and stuck on ends of plugs. Reseated them in leads and the car drove much better but still misfiring. Put new leads on and it drives perfectly now, no misfires.

Still....the high revving at idle the other day....is this a separate fault? What might cause it? Bad idle control valve?

Any advice appreciated.
