Hi I am a new member and recently purchased a second hand 2009 manual petrol 999CC Kia Picanto.
It doesn’t have central locking so it’s back to the sixties again when all doors had to be locked and unlocked separately.
The problem that I found was the passenger front door latch doesn’t activate when I put the key into the lock. I have squirted WD40 into the lock to try and make it work but to no avail.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you rectify it?
I believe that there are kits on the market to convert the doors to central locking. Has anyone else done this?

You'll need to take the inside of the door off, there is usually a metal rod from the back of the lock connected to the locking mechanism further down, often with plastic pop in parts that break over time. While your in there, see if there is any uplugged wiring for a central locking system. If it was ever offered as an extra it's most likely there but not always.
