Following an unfortunate incident with a stray hockey ballI finally got the rear glass replaced by my Kia dealer today.

The bad news is the glass company they used to replace the glass have scratched the tailgate all around the edge of the rear screen where they worked on it. There are also some marks on the rear quarter panel

I'm worried a paint job won't match up the original factory paint.
What is the best way to get this back to factory finish?

Get the paint code from under the bonnet and any coachbuilder will be able to match it.

Touch up paint (if KIA has even got any just now) is a bit messy so let a pro do it.

Alternatively take it to a specialist detailer and see if they can do a repair job, its what they do so be confident in them.

Thanks for the response...

My dealer has a body shop element to their business. They are going to do the work which will be paid for by the windscreen repair company.

The plan is to only paint the damaged areas and re-lacquer the entire tailgate. It's not really what you want to be doing with your two month old car, but they have guaranteed I won't even know there was any work done. Fingers crossed

Don't worry. My other half managed to deposit the car in a large ditch on the way home from collecting the car from the dealership. So less than a few hours old before the whole side of the car needed a re-spray (due to a bouncing wing mirror) and you really can't tell the difference.
