But you have zero qualification to your claim. They may in fact have to wait 10 months for theirs, or not at all.

You’ve had to wait 5 months because of external conditions. If the supply side suddenly wakes up from its covid/war/2021-2 slumber that is just bad luck for you when you ordered.
Look what other brands are doing and the wait times they have…

Update - after being told last week that build and delivery would be May, I have been contacted by the dealer today to say that Kia are no longer going to manufacture this car. I wonder what my options are?

All diesel models are unavailable, I've been waiting for the GT Line S to come out but its been stopped I think it was down to a shortage of chip's. :(

I very reluctantly abandoned Kia today and ordered a Toyota Corolla GR 1.8 hybrid. I’ve been with Kia for 12 years and really loved the specs and finish in the Ceed category. But my purchasing experience, let down, and disinformation in relation to my order of the 2022 Ceed has put me totally off the brand. When I phoned the dealer to let them know I was definitely not interested in other options they said that they are also disappointed in Kia centrally and the information / decisions they are making

I very nearly went for a Corolla, the 1.2 not the hybrid. I doubt you will find it disappointing, they are really great cars and it was a dead heat between that and the Ceed which won due to slightly better numbers (I bought used) and PX values of my old car.

We ordered the same model on 20/1/22 for my daughter, agreeing to PX her A Class Merc, estimated delivery 30/3/22, as they wanted her A Class we agreed they could have it 28/2/22, (the PX Price was very good and we wanted to secure it before the bubble burst)
She has now been without a car for 5 months, when we chase the dealer for the new car we just keep getting " Sorry still no build date assigned, we check weekly & will advise you when we have more information."

I have today emailed KIA UK to ask if the model has been discontinued,

Sounds like poor customer service in both cases. I was in local dealership ordering a 1.5 petrol manual 3 yesterday (end Nov delivery estimate) and there's only this model and same in GT Line trim available to order now (no options available on either. Brochures and specs still show other models but if you go to the website and select 'build' you only get the above). Shame if they can't honour existing orders but should at least let you know ASAP.

Still no reply from Kia UK, other than an acknowledgment of the email advising they aim to respond in 24 hours.

I spoke to the Dealer, who advised that no further orders were being taken for the model, however Kia had assured them that they would honour existing orders.
The last update they had was that they hoped the orders would be delivered Sept/Nov ,
They assured me that all the dealers were putting pressure on Kia UK.

If/when I get response from KIA UK, I will advise accordingly

If you have ordred a kia with a diesel engine i would just cancel it , i heard though the grapevine that they keep blowing up so they're going to stop making cars with them. you can basically only get a car now with the 1.5 and a manual box...
