just changed oil and filter what a pain to get the filter out intercooler of cover over engine and top cover cambelt any one know any short cut for next time
Remove rear intercooler hose, push out of way behind intercooler, look down back of head, remove small bore coolant pipe, this leaves enough room to remove filter, but only just!
You can also getat it by removing the coolant header tank (not difficult)which gives you just enough room to get your hand to it and pull it out- provided of course it hasn't been manically overtightened
This appears to be the main problem, people winding the thing on like there's no tomorrow- I found the first timeI did ours when it came out of warranty and dealer servicing they'd screwed it down ridiculously tight.
Fit the replacement yourself with a thin smear of oil on the seal, clean the mounting surfaces, andscrew it down lightly hand tight only(it won't leak) and it'll be a lot easier next time. Edited by: mr rusty
