Odd mark on head unit

I have just noticed this mark on my head unit display, right at the edge. I am positive that it was not there previous to today. It a very circumscribed mark, not random. I've put a few pictures up. The display is clearly seen behind and also when text moving past it. I did think the LCD was started to delaminate, but I'm confused as the display seems to work perfectly. It's not a mark on the glass as it's perfectly smooth when you run your finger over it, so it seems it's something behind. Unit works perfectly normally. Anyone any ideas??

I know. I got a memory card, and downloaded the software etc. Unfortunately I dropped the SD card in a cup of tea, and although I tried to salvage it by putting in a bag of rice, it was ruined. Currently awaiting a new one, so I can try again....
The mark however is there even if car and everything is switched off, as in the first picture....

Thanks for the replys.
I havnt tried a reset, but would this work even if its there when everything is off do you think. How do you do a reset, and what does it do?
I did think of a screen protector, and air bubble. Couldnt see anything obvious but will have another look tonight. When you press on it, its competely smooth and has no flex in it at all, and you done see the mark move, like a potential air bubble would.
No, screen has never needed to be scrolled up or down.
It was there this morning, but didnt appear as noticeable!!

Look at the facia near the ON/OFF/Sound rotary switch, there is a small hole. Push a pen/paper clip gently into the hole and the media system does what I would call 'a soft reset' - in effect it reboots. You shouldn't lose any settings. Might be worth a try.

Thanks. Home late tonight and tomorrow so will reset weds. I've had a good look, and cannot see or feel any kind of protecting film. When you run your finger over the area, it's totally smooth which makes me think it's a physical issue behind the glass. It responds to touch in this area as well, but it's so odd it's such a perfect shape.

Ive done a reset, no difference. I feel its a physical issue. Its due for a service in a month or so.
Its not affecting functionality, when you touch the area its responsive, but its annoying now ive noticed it. Car is a 68 plate, so may not be covered, but I will push the dealers!!

If it is a bubble in an as yet undiscovered screen protector, try applying some pressure with your finger just below it and moving your finger up. If it's a bubble you should see it move. I agree with other posters who say the screen looks a bit too matte for there not to be one. The screens are very shiny usually and show up finger prints like crazy, and there's not one to be seen on yours.

I updated the software, still there. It's moved again, and another one appeared as well. It's moved up again. I've discussed with dealer and they are going to take a look, I sent some pics, they haven't a clue what it might be. It's in for service and mot soon, and for the ECU upgrade recall, they will sort it at that point.. I'll let you know what happens.....
As an aside, I quite like the new look of the software......

Its currently at KIA, having service and MOT. They have confirmed there is an issue with the Head unit, but its not covered under warranty. They want ÂŁ3000 to replace!!!!!!!!!!!! Where the hell do they get this from. It would take around an hour to remove and replace, so approx ÂŁ2900 for a new head unit, they have to be making this up. Has anyone successfully discussed this with Kia UK? Its certainly not user damage, as its inside the glass. Ill have a discussion with the dealer tomorrow when I pick the car up as they are replacing the B pillar trim, as that what's been causing the rattling under braking.

Audio and navigation units
The original audio and navigation units are covered for 36 months or 60,000 miles from the date of first registration, whichever comes first.
Best bet maybe to see if you can pick up one on ebay. Or get a screen replacement as per this thread.
