I haven't yet got any issues to deal with, but I am interested in whether it's possible to use a generic code reader to pull any arising diagnostic trouble codes from my recently acquired 2017 diesel Sportage? I've already discovered the standard diagnostics port by accidentally pulling off the cover (thinking it might be a cubby hole for loose change!).
I've got an ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 interface/Android app combo which I've used on several other cars to read codes and realtime sensor data and would be particularly interested in the relevant experiences of others here? After properly configuring the 'Car Scanner' app for my other car I am able to read a wide range of sensor data and extended trouble codes well beyond the standard OBD2 remit.
Obviously I could just plug it in and try, but I'm a cautious person and it'd be good to get some feedback before jumping in!
TIA
Jon
