Hi I havw kia sportage 2012 1.7 crdi
Not had it long it has done 140000 mils runs good. But lately I am getting a funny noise on start up it lasts 5 mins at the most then disappears hard to explain its like a wurring /whinging kind of nosie. I have took fan belt off and it still does it. Has anyone had anything similar.

Hi eddie could you post a video clip of the noise ?
Otherwise it would be complete guesswork.

Guesswork it is from me but at 140,000 miles, my first thought concerns partial oil starvation, possibly in the timing chain area or the valve gear. What's the servicing history like - regular oil & filter changes?
