Evening folks.

I watched a YouTube video of the new Tuscan earlier and it had the 1.6 T petrol hybrid engine with 230 bhp and 195 ft lbs.

Do we think this will find its way into the next Sportage at all?

If so, does this engine work in the same way as the Toyota hybrids (looking at the RAV4) in that it switches between petrol and electric?

I am looking at hybrids as my next car :)

Thanks in advance for any info / links to more information.

Sportage definitely needs a full hybrid version in the line up, not the Mhev.
Phev would be the best option. But who knows I doubt it will be this year, more likely 2022 before we see any Hybrids in Sportage.

Ah

I'm not ready to go plug in electric just yet, but could live with the hybrid tech lexus / Toyota use.

I was hoping that the hybrid engine in the Tuscan was similar but having read a few websites, I'm not sure it is.

I'd like to see the door extend to cover the sills, in the muddy UK there's always mud on the trouser legs when getting in or out.
