Hi All, Just joined forum this evening.Bought a 60 plate Venga 2 1.4 Diesel and having a problem with the brakes grinding, especially when the car has just been started.
Was told at the garage that it was rust.
Surely this can't be right fora new car.
Anyone else heard or had similar problem?

Hi Pedro and welcome, yep you can get rust on the brake disc rotors over night in damp condition.
Drive it for a couple of days and it should clear up.

Hi Pedro and welcome,

Had the same thing on my Venga. The automatic was awful because when reversing out of the garage, you hold the speed down with a bit of brake, and the back ones grated badly at first. It is rust and it can form after washing the wheels or from a wet road. It has always been ok after the day's first serious application of the brakes.

best wishes
