I don't think any cars get close to the manufacturer's claims in the real world of congestion, wind, rain, uphills, cold starts, etc. but yes, the Picanto does seem to be a tad thirsty. There's a discussion on fuel economy in the Picanto forum for you to look at. I have the three-door 1 Air, and it's giving me in around 59 mpg driving in what I could describe as a medium eco-style. I have got about 62 mpg using extreme eco-driving, but it was very tiring. Zipping around should give around 55 mpg. I had a diesel car before which gave around 76 mpg!
