Pick up my ex demonstrator Sportage 2litre deisel kx2 on Monday from F.J Chalke Yeovil. cannot wait, hope to enjoy the return journey getting used to the new lady.

Yes, sort of reluctantly.
The wife doesn't drive it, i'm not sure she's confident in an auto.

It's 4 years old and out of warranty, and i have a budget through work, so can keep the C and the money, or buy another car.

My logic is.. if I keep the C, then the car budget will end up being spent on something else, and I'll not be able to afford a new car.

The Sportage is a very different car to the C. I think you will like it though. I enjoy driving my wife's, although I do wish it was an auto.
